Every year on International Women's Day, FIGUR pauses to celebrate what we're really about. Not just shapewear. Not just a sale. But women, the ones who show up, speak up, and refuse to look away.

So when Marie Claire Australia invited FIGUR to be a supporting partner of their 2026 International Women's Day lunch, it felt less like a brand opportunity and more like a natural home.

A room full of women who make you want to be braver

Set against Sydney's iconic harbour backdrop, the afternoon was presented by L'Oréal Paris and brought together some of Australia's most powerful voices, advocates, athletes, survivors, founders, and storytellers.

Marie Claire editor Georgie McCourt opened the event with a story that set the tone for the entire afternoon, one about institutional silence, about power without accountability, and about what it truly means to protect women. It was the kind of opening that makes you sit up straighter.

Four incredible women then took to the stage:

Amy Shark — one of Australia's most distinctive musical voices, who has spent her career turning vulnerability into a superpower. With a new single, album, and film debut on the horizon, she's just getting started.

Noor Azizah — a proud Rohingya woman, survivor of persecution in Myanmar, and co-founder of the Rohingya Maìyafuìnor Collaborative Network. A fierce advocate for human rights, education, and justice.

Sherele Moody — journalist, activist, and founder of The RED HEART Movement and Australian Femicide Watch. For nearly a decade Sherele has documented the lives of every known Australian woman and child killed by violence — more than 3,000 to date — ensuring they are never forgotten.

Jess Fox — the most decorated paddler in the history of canoe slalom, double gold medallist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and a living example of what happens when you absolutely refuse to accept limits.

Why FIGUR was there

FIGUR exists to remind women that their body is worthy of being celebrated exactly as it is. Our shapewear isn't about hiding or changing, it's about feeling supported, confident, and like the most powerful version of yourself when you walk into a room.

That's exactly what this afternoon was about.

International Women's Day is one of our biggest celebrations of the year, it's the day we run our biggest sale, rally our community, and take a moment to recognise the women who inspire us. Being in that room, surrounded by women who are changing Australia for the better, felt like everything FIGUR stands for brought to life.

Celebrating women every day

We left that afternoon feeling something. Grateful. Inspired. And more committed than ever to building a brand that genuinely shows up for women, not just on International Women's Day, but every single day.

If you want to be part of the FIGUR community, join our private Facebook group, a space for real women to share their wins, their outfits, their questions, and their not so perfect days too. Because that's what we're here for.
